AdoptedWHEREAS, recovery from substance use disorders is possible through a variety of treatment resources, recovery support programs, and many other pathways; and, WHEREAS, millions of people across the United States are living happy, healthy, and productive lives in recovery; and, WHEREAS, a community of recovery is beneficial to overcoming misconceptions and helping people achieve long-term recovery; and, WHEREAS, on September 11th, 2021, the sixth annual Pittsburgh Recovery Walk will take place across the region to celebrate the process and beauty of recovery from substance use disorder; and, WHEREAS, Janet Astle has been a visionary Recovery Advocate in her role at the Duquesne University School of Pharmacy and beyond; and WHEREAS, Rachel Shuster has been a courageous Recovery Pathway Supporter in her role as an addictions nurse and beyond; and WHEREAS, Krista Flaherty has been an empowering Recovery Caregiver in her role as a social worker, program manager and beyond; and WHEREAS, Janet Astle, Rachel Shuster, and Krista Flaherty have been presented with Pittsburgh Recovery Awards by the 2021 Pittsburgh Recovery Walk;
