WHEREAS, Gregory Sullivan Kottler, a resident of Crafton Heights, enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps during his junior year of high school and began recruit training at Parris Island in April 1996. Following his graduation in June 1996, he was assigned as an infantry rifleman to Lima Company, 3rd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment at Twentynine Palms, California, having also served as his platoon’s Catholic lay reader; and,
